It's nothing if you have the backing from the school
Call it like you see it

    Re: Pound football coach

That is true...but it think schedules are in their 2nd year right now..so that isn't an option for the coach coming in this year. I think pound plays TS, Ervinton, Coeburn, Castlewood.. in addition to PV, Appy, Clintwood, Kelly, and Burton...and they'll prolly have GC on for this year as well. That being said they have a fighting chance in about half of those games...bein in the LPD the schedule can't get too soft...but the nondistrict schedule is 4 winnable games if they have the guts and desire to work early on.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....

It can be done with or without the backing of the school...been on both sides of it.

Well...even if they get a new schedule the non-district can't get much softer unless GC is replaced.

Over the span of 4 years before Kevin Saunders took over at JJK the Indians posted a combined record of 4-36. Help me out Indian fans, what did he do to bring Kelly Football back to respectability? Maybe folks in Pound should take note.

    Re: Pound football coach

It takes about 3 years to build a winner and in the 4th year the team should be about as good as they are going to get with the players that have stayed the whole time...but in those 4 years you still have to develop your younger talent soming up of after year 5 there will be a huge drop off and you'll get to start again.

Sounds like you are Vince Lombardi back from the dead with all of your "build a program" knowledge.

Nope...I've just been in a situation far more grim than Pound's current situation...and I know how to do it and be successful in the end.

This should be the 1st year of the new contract I am sure GC will be dropped but so longe as you have Jenkens, Hurley and TV around the ND schedule could get softer LOL

IMHO Pound could easly schedule themselfs a 4-6 season to keep the vulchers away while building the foundation for his program.

Saunders lead a big turn around at Wise (but they were a larger school with more kids to pull from)

A better example is probably Ervinton whos turnaround over the last few years has been impressave
